Of course this involved moving practically everything in the craftroom (screaming face emoji). but it is an idea whose time has come lol. Never have I ever before had six kittens. Two 6 month old kittens and 4 almost 4 week old kittens. Fingers crossed I can get the younger kittens into some sort of adoption thing. I am unpicking a cross stitch project. I am not known for immediately diving into a project. So I was so pleased with myself that I opened the mail and started stitching that night. I moved to the desk because I needed better light and a table. I have also been wearing two pairs of glasses at once to see the stitches clearly. Only after about a week, I noticed...</p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgeGcjkiyHnUh109Sc_HVa0XZU_Ea2p967eYc2ipZgsQrakBurJMGlIqZbh550yI58madL58c_W0q1fhw0CIO7N9JX8RFZI6vZg7e6nMmt3qlwO-1dkyXmSHmgyRlO-Qt1oTC3a-kA-sit/s800/image2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="598" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgeGcjkiyHnUh109Sc_HVa0XZU_Ea2p967eYc2ipZgsQrakBurJMGlIqZbh550yI58madL58c_W0q1fhw0CIO7N9JX8RFZI6vZg7e6nMmt3qlwO-1dkyXmSHmgyRlO-Qt1oTC3a-kA-sit/w299-h400/image2.jpeg" width="299" /></a></div><p>I was stitching everything SIDEWAYS (insert screaming face emoji). So I am reflecting on my impulsiveness as I carefully rip out each stitch with my trusty seam ripper.Counting is usually my nemesis so I was quite happy to have the idea to stitch the large single color areas in alternating 5 stitch grids rather than counting 50 dark stitches in a row.</p><p>Head over to Julia's <a href="https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/2021/05/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday-625.html" target="_blank">Stamping Ground</a> for more crafty desk peeks.<br /></p><p><br /></p><p></p>Ohhh Snaphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04378791321523857714noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6023919925542824493.post-38729209449402061762021-03-17T21:54:00.006-04:002021-03-21T04:37:30.025-04:00WOYWW 615<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8ztokMmtihDHByyp9sPtqmpFOhjAztrxL_TLQfV3KV62SmgfKqcRUBvIdDPgxV9IzKDXeM8Jsc4HGDXCyeTLN2849tjbUtINERi-WVa6Vjaz6Ej-c4QsmrPuqsGO9vlByArLwgK7jko2k/s800/IMG_7348.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="598" data-original-width="800" height="299" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8ztokMmtihDHByyp9sPtqmpFOhjAztrxL_TLQfV3KV62SmgfKqcRUBvIdDPgxV9IzKDXeM8Jsc4HGDXCyeTLN2849tjbUtINERi-WVa6Vjaz6Ej-c4QsmrPuqsGO9vlByArLwgK7jko2k/w400-h299/IMG_7348.jpg" width="400" /></a></div> On a quest to get some projects done, but first pictures must be found (ugh). It scared the crap out of me because there weren't supposed to be any animals on that side of the door.. I was wondering why there were no mice in the kitchen this winter. I made them a little loft at the top of the stairs. This is them watching me cook lol.I am of course scrapbooking the adventures. The one in the box LOVES polar fleece. When you are a winter kitten in this area, it makes total sense. Keep your fingers crossed I can find a rescue organization for them. <br /><p></p><p> Head over to Julia's <a href="https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/2021/02/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday-610.html" target="_blank">Stamping Ground</a> for more crafty peeks : D.<br /></p><p> </p>Ohhh Snaphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04378791321523857714noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6023919925542824493.post-45916254278973228212021-01-13T11:29:00.005-05:002021-01-13T11:29:44.882-05:00WOYWW 606<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCJMpIrE4GhLGmnTuKi2pq5ScPDms8Evw8suYud3YS0tJcQkOxYfPAf8CAsu8bhdjdVBdeTFo4MYNA1P3cnvGSxB4qkuF2XBILVtN6ts64SqQEgWyeTdawdqQ7IHWxU3T7NJ-xopdZu0rd/s800/IMG_6905.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="598" data-original-width="800" height="299" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCJMpIrE4GhLGmnTuKi2pq5ScPDms8Evw8suYud3YS0tJcQkOxYfPAf8CAsu8bhdjdVBdeTFo4MYNA1P3cnvGSxB4qkuF2XBILVtN6ts64SqQEgWyeTdawdqQ7IHWxU3T7NJ-xopdZu0rd/w400-h299/IMG_6905.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p><br /> The state of the desk this morning. Today it's testing all the little ink pads. Today I am just testing them, keeping the inky ones and throwing out the bad 'uns. Yesterday I did all the ink pads in the drawers. I finished the crochet part in 1979, and learned how to do it from a book (Reader's Digest Guide to Needlework long before the internet was a household thing), but didn't really get the whole end weaving and blocking thing. I managed not to lose it through 12 or so moves. It was crocheted out of actual thread because I had real vision back then. So the finished piece is new and vintage at the same time lol. <br /><p></p><p>For more crafty peeks go to Julia's <a href="https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/2020/09/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday-591.html" target="_blank">Stamping Ground</a> : D.<br /></p>Ohhh Snaphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04378791321523857714noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6023919925542824493.post-71287355275000582952020-09-16T19:05:00.001-04:002020-09-17T12:08:28.789-04:00WOYWW 589<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8A2UTT6HW0PdTF8f6U892o8JpOezlE5DcBKvYqSNboqcE_PMqdM8snwy7fbf7VwkhI-rXeTLkm_dangA6BYbGNd8-6_jakrMar_DPAE05x4QStQEojwqbwoK6JbAKSeeW9tpzhvJqqRw3/s800/P1030260.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8A2UTT6HW0PdTF8f6U892o8JpOezlE5DcBKvYqSNboqcE_PMqdM8snwy7fbf7VwkhI-rXeTLkm_dangA6BYbGNd8-6_jakrMar_DPAE05x4QStQEojwqbwoK6JbAKSeeW9tpzhvJqqRw3/w400-h300/P1030260.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p>I succumbed to the siren song of Speckled Egg, and couldn't find ink pads anywhere, so ordered the whole thing. I have been looking for my Altenew Watercolors for a few months. And Monday I found them. Right where I had been looking : I. It has done a lot to restore my crafty mojo if for no other reason, I don't keep looping I'd think I'll use my new paints! I can't find them. Hunt for paints. Leave craftroom.<br />

I also finished my Radiate Shawl (designed by WestKnits). Because as I have gotten older, I now believe it's not finished until it's wet washed and blocked. I block on a flat surface for the record, this is just the glamour shot : D.<br />

I actually broke down and bought something papercrafty, including a jar of Tim Holtz' Speckled Egg Distress Glaze. I was quite sad to find out that Ranger has discontinued Distress Markers about a year ago. Living under a rock has it's drawbacks. But the new colors will be added to Distress Crayons so there's that. For the record, I was ready to post much earlier in the day, but the computer insisted upon being rebooted which apparently takes an age.<br />

The stamp and die set is from Simon Says and is called "We're Like Toilet Paper" : D. And there is an interactive toilet die, and as I am really 12 and I love interactive things I bought that too.<br />

And now for something completely different. I came up with a taco hack for those times I want to have a slightly crunchy taco shell. I heat the tortilla on both sides and add cheese to the top. Also it keeps the shredded cheese from falling out. <br />
