Okay, this is chaotic, even for me lol. Out of deference to those with delicate sensibilities, I've kept the picture smaller. Of course if you want to see it up close, you can just click on it. The remote is for my CD player. At the moment I'm listening to an audio book. I'm still sad I finished The Graveyard by Neil Gaiman, but didn't want to listen to it twice back to back lol.
About the pink mystery paint last week, the color was an unintended red herring. It's chalkboard paint. But... I forgot to buy regular chalk so I could test it out in a card setting. And I spent the last two days mostly looking for my Martha Stewart foils and getting distracted by all the other things I found instead (see picture above lol), so that project got put on a back burner.
I also moved a lovely box with little shelves off one desk to another space close enough to put heavily stickled items safely away from the perils of gravity or forgetfulness. I was reminded to do this by my stickles chart with the three smooshed lines (icicle, crystal and diamond) where I dropped my pen when I was taking the cap off. Did I mention Grace is one of my nicknames? The chart is really handy for deciding which "clear" stickles to use and what they all look like out of the bottle.
In the Cricut realm of my existence this week, I've been using my Superman cartridge a lot. Only with a twist, that I can't show it to you yet. You can see my test boxes (the grey ones) from the Happy Hauntings cartridge. After I figure out all the bits, I'll make them in Lovely Halloween colors. I love the takeout box with the hand coming out of the graveyard, but I think it needs to be cut from a stiffer cardstock as the hand is very floppy after it goes through the slot!
It's also week three of Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends which is in a separate post after this one, should you care to check it out. Thanks for looking!
WOYWW is a blog hop hosted by Julia at The Stamping Ground, and this, I believe, is week 69. So hop over if you want to see how more crafty people house work and join in :D.
Wow, I still only have ONE stickles. This is a very nice chart and shows how many colors there really are. I'm impressed by your moving them to a safer place. I was wondering what that blue "pen" thing is in the lower left of the desk. Happy WOYWW from #1.

Oh my, we have been busy, haven't we? LOL I love your Stickles idea... may have to 'borrow' that one as I can never decide which of the clear ones is right for the job and end up mixing them up! A shelf away from everything is the only way to go with stickles stuff... I think I have smudged more than my fair share of projects 'just testing' to see if its dry yet!!
ReplyDeleteLove your Stickles ~ I don't have enough to make a chart.... Happy WOYWW #85

WOW!!!! Love the stickles chart - I wish ad that many to do a chart lol x
ReplyDeleteI guess I shouldn't feel bad when I get this way. I thought I had a problem inherited by my father, when my work area gets this messy, but at least I have many others that have the same problem. Not necessarily inherited, huh? lol At least it's a creative mess!
ReplyDeleteA stickles chart huh? Well, believe me, however untidy your desk may get, your chart makes you a bit on the organised side! I like the coffin box - s'great!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the Superman project.....I need to find someone close to me that has that one...2 of my sons were Supermen for Halloween one year and I would love it to make that LO but don't think it is one I "need" so waiting to see your inspiration..
ReplyDeleteHow busy is your desk? Certainly looks like you've got loads to be getting on with
ReplyDeleteWow - that is a major workdesk there!Hope you can find your way to the Martha stash - stickles supply doing well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the peek,
Sarah (Sasa 27)

ReplyDeleteLove your mess, a sigh of REAL creativity. Your stickles chart is seriously impressive too. I only have a few bottles but usually just use crystal as it does for everything!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hugs Lisax
Since my desk is similar to yours, I can relate a saying I once heard: "Organized people are just to lazy to look for it!" Lol. That's me, always looking for something!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW

ReplyDeleteHi thanks for your thoughts on stamp organising ! I think that like you I am a neatnik with creative urges as I am also funny about not breaking up sets of stamps !! And I have lots of charts of colours of things ! Nice to know I'm not alone in my only little world ! Ali x
ReplyDeleteOh My!!!! Well...at least you know where everything is. Lol Love your halloween box, too cute. Would love to see it finished. Very clever storing your stickles upside down. ~jeni :) *106*

ReplyDeleteOooh lovely creative space there! Thank you so much for my blog award - I am going to spend most of this morning sorting out my 15 blogs to pass it on to! Love the stickles sheet - I havent got one of those (you think I would have with all my little colour tags around wouldnt you!) so I am going to make one - hopefully later today as I have a free day! whoo hoo. Let me know how you get on with the chalkboard paint too - I have used black on a board before but not thought to use it on a card - Good thinking Superman (in my house we usually say Good thinking Batman but thought I would refer to your cartridge instead!) - gosh I am chatty today arent I!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like the kind of organised chaos I work in, love it!

What a fabulous busy desk! I must be a bit over-Halloweened at the moment, because it made me think of a crafting cauldron boiling over with all kinds of fantastical makes.
