I lined all the layers for this cupcake from Create A Critter out on my Gypsy and arranged the paper on the mat, inserted the cord in the Gypsy... nothing... tried again and the port fell in the Gypsy. I think I blinked at it in disbelief for about 5 minutes. All day long, I've been having "My Gypsy broke!!!" moments. It's almost a physical pain. I know there's way worse things that could happen, and I'm grateful it's only the Gypsy, but it's still a shock to my system lol.
The good news is that I bought the extended warranty last year. Provocraft is sending me a shipping label. The bad news is my gypsy is broken lol. And I have quite a few files I never backed up which are now irretrievable. On the plus side, the gypsy is still working (except for the port) so I can take some digital pictures and write down all the carts, sizes etc. Thank goodness I saved all the calendar grids! It's going to be a longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg 3ish weeks. Looks like I'll be making my Christmas cards Ole Skool. Thank heavens for Above Rubies Cricut A to Z!!
OK so back to the card, DD requested a yellow and pink cupcake with a face. So Create A Critter to the rescue :D. I used black diamond Stickles in the eyes and mouth, cotton candy around the pink wrapper and crystal around the frosting. The stickles on the frosting were intentionally flattened with my finger (a technique I learned on a Two Peas in a Bucket video class).
So tonight we're going to watch The Ghost and Mr. Chicken ("They even used Bon Ami!") and have Tuna Noodle Casserole and peas for dinner and maybe tomato soup since it's such gray Almost November day.
BTW I'm thinking HSN is the place I'll be buying all my PC machines from now on as long as they have those lovely extended warranties!! And PC's customer service was awesome.

Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends
This is the last post of Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends. We've done the entire cartridge! Thank you Flowerdisco for organizing this, and thank you Friends for sharing your wonderful projects. I've really enjoyed playing along.
This week I had a flourish, so I made a Celebrate with a Flourish card. Most of the scrap paper is K&Co. I think with a little Stampin Up and a card base made with Hawaiian Breeze Papertrey Ink. I didn't have a stamp that said this, so I wrote it by hand and then used hand drawn frames to tie it to the card.
Be sure to check out what everyone else made.

WOYWW - 73
This re-organization thing is making me a little crazed lol. Confession time... My name is Ohhh Snap and I am a printer/scanner/cutter-o-holic. I built this lovely rolling shelf for all my erm accessories. I got my regular computer going again (thanks to my brilliant eldest nephew) so I thought it was time to get all the thingies ready to go. I also have to confess I've lost track of my ink for the big printer so I haven't even attached that one yet lol.
The bookcase is on it's way to someplace else, but needs direction. 1. big printer. 2. slide/negative scanner. 3. scanner/regular printer (its a kodak with inexpensive ink that lasts 3 times longer than my Lexmark used to). 4. Photo printer 5. really old printer I want to use for fabric printing in case things go awry. 6. Gazelle (die cut machine to supplement Cricut - Gazelle has design your own cut capability and cuts a true 12 inches). 7. rechargeable ott lite (can you have too many ott lites?) 8. deluxe cat bed made with a regular cat bed put in a no longer needed drawer from craftroom for my cat who really likes to watch the room protected from view). 9. purse that I made in a sewing class 2 years ago. The little basket on the second shelf is filled with bags of dyed silk from my spinning guild auction. The arrow is pointing to my star trek phone which lights up and makes the red alert klaxon when it rings (yes I really am a dyEd in the wool trekkie). Avoiding the camera is my Epson picturemate.

Guest Designer at Tuesday Treats
Today is my first post at Tuesday Treats as a Guest Designer. When the gypsy first launched every bit of the image had to be on the mat or nothing would cut at all. The large mat is made with two 12 x 12 inch sheets placed side by side on a 12 x 24 inch mat using the 10th image with the Phrase feature with the size set at 19.54" height. The height for the smaller mat is set at 10.54". The apple and tree are also from Create-a-Critter.
The font is from Cindy Loo. I attached the negative cut to the right hand page with some painters tape on the left side. I used it to place the letters on the page. Leaving it unattached on the right allowed me to open it and make sure I had only glued the letters to the page. I used the journal mat to make a pocket for more journaling. The paperclip is from Fabulous Finds and the middle and top of the paperclip is glued to the extra journaling note. Most of the paper comes from the August Club Ruby Designers kit.

WOYWW - 72
The weeks are zipping by lol. I'm working on a couple of double duty Cricut projects. One set of 12 Coffin Boxes which will also be a Halloween Guest Designer post (which is why I needed the big 12 x 24 mat as well as gift bags for a Halloween party. The other is for a Guest Designer post featuring the Gypsy which will also be a scrapbook layout for DD's book made mostly with some scrumptious paper from the first Club Ruby Designers kit.
I popped in a lot of little tags and clips from Fabulous Findings and Printing Press to fill out the 12 x 24 paper. After that I cut off any strips of paper so very little waste. The gunmetal and Christmas stickles are from this week's Serenade cartridge series posted almost automatically except I put PM instead of AM and we had some power failures during the night.
If you want to see lots more crafty sights hop over to Julia's blog Stamping Ground. Join in if you've a mind to do so :D.

Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends - Week 6
This image had me stumped for a long time. I might add tissue flowers at a later date, the jury is still out on that one lol. I cut all the cage pieces out of the same sheet of grey, but added some gun metal Stickles (spread with a finger) to all the layers. The winged heart is a red base with a black layer but red stickles over the heart (not spread with a finger btw). The winged heart is from the Spring 2010 seasonal cart Love Struck. I used foam tape to attach it to the mirror. It will go on DD's wall after we paint it a pale yellow.

Take THAT Cancer! Card
I made this card for Monique Griffith who just finished her chemo. It was one of those things I could see clearly what I wanted it to be, but it took me a while to get all the details down pat. It's a pedestal/easel/stand-up card that really stands up because I pushed the brace part back a bit. I didn't want the super emblem to be slacking. I learned how to make these cards last year at Everyday Cricut, before that I just over thought the whole process.
Paper: Stamper's Select White (card face most of the "S", one layer of the brace and both layers of the zap base) and Hibiscus Burst (card base one layer of the "S") and from Papertrey Ink, and some light pink, maroon and blue scraps from my scrapbox.
Cricut cartridge: Superman (including the font).
Foil: Martha Stewart from the foil kit.
Embellishments: Crystal and Cotton Candy Stickles, Pearl Ex Powder.
Starting with the Icon, I cut the shadow out of some blue scrap and glued embellishment layer (cut out of some pink scrap cardstock paper) to the shadow but not glued everywhere. I wanted the stickles to lift it up a bit where it wasn't glued down. I used two heavy layers of Cotton Candy Stickles for this.
After I was sure that was what I wanted I glued the blue shadow to the white cardstock and outlined it and all the openings in it with Crystal Stickles. The white part of the icon is covered with white Pearl Ex powder. The Hibiscus Burst background is coated with Crystal Stickles and edged with Martha Stewart Foil. I made two more icon bases to make sure it wouldn't warp. Then the whole icon was covered with Triple Thick Gloss Glaze by DecoArt and attached with foam tape.
The shadow layer of the mat is cut from Stamper's Select White cardstock by PTI covered with Martha Stewart foil. The smaller layer is the same cardstock covered with Crystal Stickles. The shadow of the Zap! is cut from the same pink as the Icon embellishment. The word is cut from maroon. I used a Sakura Quickie Glue pen to draw a Zap inside the cut and covered it with the Martha Stewart foil. I used a lot of foam tape to put everything together.

Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends Week 5
OK, I don't know where the week went, but jeepers it was a fast one. The base of the card is made with Papertrey Ink's Ocean Tides cut as an A2. The tree is cut with scraps, mostly Club Scrap. I intended to use "I be-leaf in you" as the sentiment, but I wasn't sure when it came time, so I left it blank for now. I can always add it later, but it's a bear to change once it's on :D.

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday - 71
This week just flew by. I have the remnants of my Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends contribution for this week left on the table along with my acrylic blocks and some rubberstamps from my ongoing stamp book projects. I have one page set aside solely for Eiffel Tower stamps. I'd have a gnome page, but I only have one very small gnome stamp, so it would look a bit lost. I've been saving my new Tim Holtz rosette die for an incentive for finishing a few things. So after I write up my instructions for my "Take THAT Cancer" easel card, I get to make rosettes :D. I'll have a full post on it sometime, but it seemed like I should show you all since there's been hints and bits of it for a couple of weeks now.
This is the card I've been working on finally finished (see why I needed to find that foil?). Lots of stickles, pearl ex powder, foil and triple thick glaze. I'm thinking of entering it in the Woman Warrior contest. I was tickled pink that it really seemed to bright the recipient's day. All the cuts and lettering are made with my Cricut Superman cartridge.
I'm trying to tweak just a little bit more length out of the coffin boxes, then I have an order for 12 to put together. *tutting at myself* I almost forgot to say if you are wondering what WOYWW is, or you'd like to see more head over to Julia's blog at Stamping Ground.

Auntly Pride
When my niece graduated I photographed this little celebration made for her by my youngest nephew. Now that I'm back on my regular computer (and it feels so strange not to be sitting on the sofa whilst I surf), I'm sorting through pictures. We're thinking an etsy shop is in his future :D.

What's on your workdesk? Wednesday - 70
If you are looking for Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends, please scroll to the next post. Of course you are welcome to read this one too lol.
I went to the local overstock store and bought this shoe holder, only I'm using it to store my favorite punches (mostly circles, scallops and martha stewart border punches) and my Club Scrap Idea Card Decks so far. To the left you can see negative cuts from my Cricut held together with painter's tape until they find a home.
If you want to see more workspaces captured in a Wednesday frame of mind, head over to Julia's Stamping Ground blog. Or even better, take a picture and join in the fun :D.

Playing with Serenade with Flowerdisco and Friends - Week 4
The first card is made with positive shapes. The tree branch is stamped with Papertrey Ink's Beyond Basics: Woodgrain stamp set. The sentiment is stamped on a tag tied to the branch. The embellishments are made with Dimensional Pearls.
The second card is made with the negative shapes of the shadow and base stacked over a green base. The edges were inked with Papertrey Ink Chamomile and Chai.

Krafty Badges and an Embellishment
OK, I must admit, every time I think badges that line from Blazing Saddles pops into my head. But I do need these stinkin' badges. I found medium (22mm) Badge Daddies for the i-Top at Michaels when I was looking for a consolation purchase because there wasn't a speck of glow-in-the-dark glitter to be found. They were only available in medium, which was the only punch I didn't have for the i-Top, so I had to buy that too.
I used kraft paper as the base for everything. The snowflake is from an unknown punch (it has a yellow glitter housing) with faux stitching with a 01 micro pigma pen and embellished with antique linen distress stickles. The I be-leaf in you is stamped with a leaf from Falling Leaves stamp set from Papertrey Ink.
The flower embellishement is made from a cut-out from each size of the i-Top punches with a small brad holding them all together. The paint is yellow fabric paint from Plaid.

Have you seen my camera? lol
OK, four days ago I knew where my camera was. Then I disconnected it from the computer so I could reharge it, only I got distracted and put it down somewhere... So now I have no idea where it is and I have to take pictures of the cards I made for Playing with Serenade with Flowerdisco and friends. So if you see it, let me know lol.
