I just have a row or two left, all I need is to find some suitable doublepoint needles. Then it'll be time to start the second part. Not much time for crafting this week with this and that going on. I can't believe I've been mowing the grass for three weeks already as it's only the end of April. Keeping my fingers crossed this week's linking will be less adventurous than last week : D.

WOYWW 359
My glamorous photo studio lol. The details of the card (all gussied up) can be found here. When the ribbon is pulled the top half of the focal point pulls up and another sentiment slides out at the bottom thanks to Papertrey Ink's Movers & Shakers: Sliders die.
I'm knitting the gauge for the tea cozy. I've totally abandoned my original idea thanks to Julia and Lunch Lady Jan : D. It's a thick yarn on size 11 US needles. This Denise Interchangeable Knitting set has proved an excellent investment, I only wish it went down to size 1. I guess that's what double points are for : D. So in the next couple of weeks the tea pot should be properly clothed. Why a couple of weeks? There's a second bit that needs sorting lol.
So head over to Julia's Stamping Ground for a gander at other crafty spots around the globe : D.

Papertrey Ink April 2016 Create Along With Us Challenge
I finally tackled the Movers & Shakers: Sliders die, and once I actually had them in my hands (after watching Nichole's video), it was Easy Peasy. Stamping the card front and THEN diecutting the top part of the slider works much better than cutting and trying to stamp (just saying lol). I used Spring Rain cardstock for the front stamped with Rainy Day Sentiments with Enchanted Evening for the large drops and Aqua Mist for the smaller. The cloud and Sun are only attached in the middle for extra dimension.
When the ribbon is pulled it pops up the top of the focal point and exposes the slider which is stamped with the solid block from Building Blocks with "We'll be friends until we're old and senile. Then we'll be new friends." written on it.
The focal point base is Stamper's Select White and the Scene It: Skyscapes (cloud and sun) are cut out of Fresh Snow Linen cardstock. The clouds are painted with Stormy Sky Distress ink and the Sun is painted with Bright Buttercup and Orange Zest. I scored it right at the point that the sun meets the horizon and attached it to the slider at the bottom fold. I stamped the ribbon pull with a pull here sentiment from Movers & Shakers: Sentiments set and is attached to the slider tab with two tiny attachers colored with Ranger Gold Pigment Alcohol Ink. The sentiment is stamped on vellum Fillable Frames #5 stamped with Stazon. It is attached with a line of Tombow Multi behind the "behind".
For this month's Create Along With Us Challenge, I was inspired by this card made by Heather Nichols cards for the Papertrey Ink April 2016 release
The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge is Dimension, and Simon Says Let's Do the Polka, so I'm including it there as well.

With Sympathy
A sympathy card made with Willow and Mat Stack 1 Collection and die set. After I stamped the tree trunk with Dark Chocolate from the Willow set, I used the Woodgrain Impression Plate on the front half of the Classic Kraft cardstock. I used a Mat Stack 1 die cut from Vintage Cream cardstock with the frame stamp with Classic Kraft ink and a sentiment with Dark Chocolate from the Willow set. The leaves are stamped in Ripe Avocado on Classic Kraft and attached with foam tape. I applied 1/4 inch score tape under the tree across the card front and attached Ocean Tides Satin ribbon (upside down for a more muted finiish) with pleats. On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the Willow set.
And because the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge is Dimension, I'm entering it there too
I was heavily influenced by Heather Nichols' With Sympathy post. In fact it was this post that made me buy Mat Stack 1.

WOYWW 357
Now that I have my Papertrey Ink stamps sorted, it's on to the notebook (because it's easier to see the images all stamped, then pulling the set out of the basket and squinting at them lol). Most of the stamp sets have handy dandy tips, so I write those on the back (again because it's easier). And it does wonders for my mojo and usually I have to stop and make something.
The teapot is still naked. It's on my desk because it belongs to my friend who wanted a tea cozy for Christmas (in 2015 mind you). And I said I've been studying tea cozies, I've got this in the bag. . . . So basically it's a big old lesson in humility lol. But I've moved on to a new idea for a pattern, well two thanks to Julia and LLJ : D. My friend has a great sense of humor so I think she'll appreciate the latter especially.
I nearly forgot, the day after I was thinking the grass really needed mowing, and I saw birds busy putting on shows and the frogs were singing in the nearby creek, I woke up to snow.
Which inspired me to make this card.

Make It Monday #245: Color Isolation
A Make It Monday challenge actually made on a Monday. The sequins are actually crystal, but no matter what I tried they come out purple in the photo. The frame and colored cupcake are all colored with Distress Markers, the cupcake also has some Goldenrod Stickles. The background cupcakes are stamped with Fine Linen. All the images that were colored were stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink. It dries quickly and tolerates waterbased markers, watercolors and alcohol markers. Plus it gives a really deep and even image.
And because Simon Says Anything Goes, I entered it there as well.

Make It Monday #244: Score Lines
Make It Monday #244: Score Lines. I used them twice, once around the Spring Moss card front and one the Stamper's Select White card base (every 1/2 inch).
This morning I woke up to this, even though the grass is just about to need mowing and the birds are building nests and frogs were singing in the near by creek yesterday.
The DIY stamping device made from a DVD case was critical in getting the images stamped three times with white pigment ink exactly in the same place. The snowflake is from Snowflake Medley, the flower is from Note Niblets. After I dried the pigment ink with my heat gun, I colored the flowers and the middle part of the snowflake with Memento Angel Pink marker and put a dot of Yellow Stickles in the center of all the flowers.

The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge: Dimension
The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge is Dimension and the Guest Designer is Wendy Vecchi.
I blended a little Antique Linen Distress Ink through Wendy Vecchi's Polka Dotty stencil. Then stamped the lace from her Say It With Art stamp set in Frayed Burlap and the flourish and sentiment in Orange Blossom Archival Ink. I used her Embossing Paste through the 3 Flourish stencil. Poe (from the Metro Art stamp set) is stamped with Cornflower Blue Archival Ink, fussy cut and attached with foam tape.
And because Simon Says Anything Goes, I entered it there as well : ).
