T is for Tickled Pink

I love to try new crafty things, and sometimes they even turn out like I thought they would lol. This is one of those times. I used the stitch die from Papertrey Ink's Regency Era on Shrinky Dink. I cross stitched it (at full size) with some handspun wool/silk blend. Then shrunk it with Ranger's Heat-It.  I used the back of a wood mounted stamp to flatten it while it was still warm. And it feels like terry cloth. I think I'll be sewing a pinback on it through threads in the back.

Since it's Tuesday and I'm tickled pink, I'll be sharing this with Bleubeard and Elizabeth's T Stands for. Simon Says Anything Goes, so I will be sharing it there. And because it is Papertrey Ink, I'll be sharing it at September 2014 Inspiration Archive.

updated to add I had it sitting on my crafttable and was overcome with an urge to paint it using Distress Ink (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstock and Bundled Sage).

I'm tickled pink that you joined us for T Stands For Tuesday. It's always fun to see what you are working on. This is no exception. Clever shrinky dink project, too.

Cute idea, did the threads melt when you shrunk it? I think it will make a cute brooch!
Happy T-day

What a cool idea! I love the shrink plastic stuff and have a few items I have yet to complete, but I do like the stitched idea and it ending up with closer texture.
Thanks for your comment on my post too :D Happy T day :D
