Scrap paper, stamped (and stamped and stamped and stamped). I think I have some of the prettiest recycling in town. The red circles are from a layered image and I used a stamped off ink for one of the layers. I saw this little upside down jar ornament n the craft store and I couldn't resist. Now what to make with it.

The heat tool used to dry pigment ink on the message board to the right (the bear and mountains are magnetic sheet die cut and stamped). Of course since it is based on a piece of galvanized step flashing it got very hot ... note to self lol.

And my 9 year old flip phone because I can make calls on my home phone, but I can't receive any. The repair person is supposed to come today.

Papertrey Ink October 2015 Blog Hop

Today is Papertrey Ink's October 2015 Blog Hop.  The Mistletoe is from Merry Kiss-mas stamped with Simply Chartreuse. The ornaments are from Kitchen Sink's Ornaments and Stars but I only used 4 of the 5 layers to subdue them a little bit (stamped with Sweet Blush, stamped off Pure Poppy, Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel). The Merry & Bright from Snowflake Sparkle stamped first in black and then in a wide stripe of repeats in Fine Linen. The white cardstock is Stamper's Select White and the card base is Simply Chartreuse.

Playing with my Papertrey Ink's All Through the House kit. This week I stripped down my entire workdesk (3.5' x 5') took off the plywood, swapped out the seriously tuckered out on the verge of immanent demise saw horses, flipped the plywood and put things back. Why would I do this?

The Pure Poppy ink pad made break for freedom (ultimately seeking refuge in an empty dishpan under the table in the opposite direction that it fell.

I also went a little Clothespins/pegs mad and scoured the stores for them and came home with 4 sizes.

Small snowman ornaments which fit in the matchbox one can make with the dies in the kit.

Matchbox turned into an ornament with a matching frame.
 

More fun with clothespins. A washi covered sheet of galvanized roof flashing with pins for holding papers and notes to self. Magnets too. It hangs on the door so I have an extra chance at remembering things before I go out : ).

Working on some of my dies, snipping sets apart, writing what they are on the backs with a Sharpie labelling the bags. In between I'm looking for my favorite inkpad which has gone walkies. I thought I saw it fall off the desktop when I was cleaning up after a crafting blitz. It seems to have hit the black hole.

I found a link to the post the stamping device video is on that has a little more information than the video by itself. I used it during my crafting blitz and it made life a lot easier.

A much tighter crop than usual as I'm working on a Guest Artist project and apparently not very skilled at seeing bits and pieces that shouldn't be seen until after the picture is taken. So I found a video on making a stamping tool out of clear DVD cases. There is a commercial project that is larger, but much more expensive than things I have on hand (DVD case, Fun Foam, possibly part of an old Cricut Mat to keep the paper in place...).  And since I'm no longer using them to store stamps, I can set up several of them. Very handy for making multiples. I'm testing it out with Papertrey Ink's Brushed Blooms which has multiple layers for images.

Just before I started tidying up. It's the scissors convention, just outside the shot is my most used pair. The bag in the back is full of sea glass. The stamp in the front is one I cut apart (and put back together).

I stamped it twice, because my friend and I are getting to that age lol.

What's Kracken?

 The whale is from Basic Gray's Set Sail stamp set. the birthday hat is hand cut fro a piece of scrap. The vial is from Tim Holtz' newer set wrapped with a bit of jute tied to make a loop to use as a charm. There is a very tiny piece of sea-glass from one of my favorite beaches inside.

The card is from Cricut's Simple Pop-Up cartridge cut in a light cardstock (DCWV?). The assembly instructions are relatively unclear and it took a bit of practice to figure out exactly how to bend the cuts or which tentacle went where and likewise the waves. Future cards will be easy peasy to put together. The sizing is also a bit awkward. It might be easier to only cut the blue and the green tentacles.
