Sequin-tial Birthday Cards

It's a sequin fest of birthday cards. The first one is made using Simon Says Stamp's TV Shaker die. The background is stamped with Iron Orchid Designs Build-A-Frame II with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, Papertrey Ink's Ad Sense stamped with Pumice Stone and Black Soot. And an Inklings robot stamp. The sequins are Simon Says Stamps Pale Pink.

This is mostly a Papertrey Ink card. The background is embossed using the impression plate from Make It Market kit: Luxe Letterpress using Sweet Blush cardstock. The pocket is made with Melon Berry patterned paper cut with the Library Pocket die. The journal card made using the Monthly Moments Mini Journal Card die stamped with the Library Card Mini stamp with Berry Sorbet ink. The sentiment is from Everyday Happiness stamped in Chipped Sapphire and Salty Ocean Distress Inks.The sequins are Simon Says Stamp Pale Pink.

This card was made for the Papertrey Ink April 2015 Blog Hop. It was okay, but better now with the sentiment from the 2012 Happy Birthday Tags stamp set stamped in Paris Dusk Memento Ink and some large Darice Crystal sequins. I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere all the sequins. I love this stuff, no shiny glue spots.

Heavy Metal Challenge

Papertrey Ink is having a Heavy Metal Challenge to create a project featuring nothing but neutrals and metallics.

The front of the Stamper's Select White cardbase is covered with the gold from the Make It Market kit: Lux Letterpress. White vellum was run through Tim Holtz' Notebook Embossing Folder. I used my Cricut to cut the star charm from the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge out of the gold adhered to Vintage Cream cardstock. "You're Simply the Best" is cut from the Wild Card cartridge. Tombow Multi Glue was applied to the back of the sentiment and allowed to dry before attaching to the vellum so a little extra dimension could be had.

Papertrey Ink January 2015 Blog Hop

This month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop challenge is to use hearts. It's been a few months since I had a chance to really play with paper. I've especially been wanting to use my Make It Market kits.

I don't have a lot of heart stamps, but I found one in the Make It Market kit: Country Fair. The front is embossed with the impression plate and the gold ink are from Make It Market kit: Luxe Letterpress and the sentiments are from MIMk: Beautiful Brushstrokes. The only things that aren't from a MIMkit are the heart punch and the Stamper's Select cardstock for the cardbase and the PTI chai inkpad used to ink the edge of the heart. I signed up to take Cards with Dimension: Lovely Layers, Textures & Embellishments by Danielle Flanders over at Craftsy.com. It is giving me a greater awareness of it all.

And because Simon Says Have a Heart for it's Wednesday Challenge, I'm entering it there as well.

Make It Monday #178: Back to School Easel

Make it Monday #178: Back to School Easel.  I went with more of a cafe inspirational board, than a back to school Easel. Everything is Papertrey Ink except for the Zing! White Opaque Embossing Powder (which I think can be found at PTI also). I used the hexagon die from Make It Market Co.: Luxe Letterpress to make the legs of the easel. I followed some of the techniques in the Make It Monday #98: Chalkboard Technique. The sentiment is from A Little Inspiration stamp set and the flowers are from the Stamp-a-faire 1940's mini kit. The cardstock is Dark Chocolate and True Black.

Gertrude the Grrrraduate

The paper is from Autumn Leaves All Occasion Pack covered with Picket Fence Distress Stain. Then stamped with the large paw print from Paper Smooches Paws for a Cause stamp set. The pictures are matted with Papertrey Ink's Pure Poppy cardstock.

A bonus feature of the paper is that it provided a space for her name and school lol.

The notebook paper is Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select White stamped with the notebook line stamp from It's Official with Spring Rain ink.

The scroll is made with a rolled piece of scrap paper tied with Papertrey Ink's 1/4 inch White Silk Ribbon and the Sealing Wax technique from Stamp-a-faire 2014 with the smallest paw print from Paws for a Cause.

The medallions are made with a die from Papertrey Ink's Make It Market Co.: Luxe Letterpress set, sentiments from Paper Smooches Paws for a Cause stamped with Iced Spruce Distress Ink and ribbon from my stash.  Simon Says Anything Goes : ).

Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire 2014: Explore the Regency Era

Explore the Regency Era with Melissa Phillips. Have I mentioned the playlist that accompanies each era? I get to listen whilst I write my posts. If I wasn't so graceful, I'd have my computer in the craftroom, but I'm unwilling to risk it lol. I used the frame die and stamp from the Regency mini kit. I love that blue striped paper. The mat is Vintage Cream and the die is from Papertrey Ink's Make It Market Co.: Luxe Letterpress.  I stamped the mat with the cross-stitched rose in Tea Dye Distress Ink and distressed with Aged Mahogany and Antique Linen.

This kit has also given me ideas for the perfect gifts for someone who loves the Regency Era.

Making Lemonade, Just Because : D

This card is made entirely from things previously used, that could have been better. I stamped the dog for a Make It Monday challenge, but decided to dress it up by turning it into a mat on a different card base, only I sneezed and it went on wicked crooked.

So I trimmed that one off so there is a peek of Simply Chartreuse under the Vintage Cream, but I like it. The Sweet Blush card base was going to be used for a different card but I changed my mind at the last minute and it tore a smidge... but totally covered by the new mat. I added some of the very very very thin gold tape from Papertrey Ink's Make It Market kit: Luxe Letterpress and finished it with a big "Hi-Ya" for a Just Because card worthy of the Simon Says J is for . . .

Hope Your Day Sparkles and Shines

Another variation on the Make It Monday #173: No Outline Watercolor and Simon Says Embossed though technically it's the backside of the impressed so it's debossed? The mat is Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, the card base is Hibiscus Burst. The stamp set is Simply Magical from Taylored Expressions (I changed the cherry to a heart for the cupcake with paint). And because I stamped the cupcake and the unicorn in Antique Linen Distress Ink, I used a marker on the features to make them stand out. The embossing is done with the large impression plate from Papertrey Ink's Make It Market kit: Luxe Letterpress.

If you look hard at the unicorn and cuppie,  you will see they sparkle (thanks to macro pearl Pearl Ex). The sentiment is nearly obscured by sparkle in real life thanks to Stampendous Crystal Embossing Powder, but not so much in the picture. 

I made the caption by stamping the sentiment, painting a bubble around it and then cutting it out with a pair of scissors.
