Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends

This is the last post of Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends. We've done the entire cartridge! Thank you Flowerdisco for organizing this, and thank you Friends for sharing your wonderful projects. I've really enjoyed playing along.

This week I had a flourish, so I made a Celebrate with a Flourish card. Most of the scrap paper is K&Co. I think with a little Stampin Up and a card base made with Hawaiian Breeze Papertrey Ink. I didn't have a stamp that said this, so I wrote it by hand and then used hand drawn frames to tie it to the card.

Be sure to check out what everyone else made.

Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends - Week 6

This image had me stumped for a long time. I might add tissue flowers at a later date, the jury is still out on that one lol. I cut all the cage pieces out of the same sheet of grey, but added  some gun metal Stickles (spread with a finger) to all the layers. The winged heart is a red base with a black layer but red stickles over the heart (not spread with a finger btw). The winged heart is from the Spring 2010 seasonal cart Love Struck. I used foam tape to attach it to the mirror. It will go on DD's wall after we paint it a pale yellow.

Think Pink

I made this card to for the Cricut Circle Think Pink Challenge. The card base is made with Papertrey Ink Fine Linen cardstock.  The butterflies are Papertrey Ink Hibiscus Burst cardstock made with a Martha Stewart punch. The two Cricut cuts are the scallop border from Plantin Schoolbook and the negative from Serenade image 35. The flourishes are stamped on the kraft paper with a stamp from the Papertrey Ink Embellishments stamp set (also used for the sentiment). I used Crystal Stickles for the butterfly bodies. I drew the frame, the leaves and outlined the tree with a Micron pigma black 01 pen.

Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends Week 5

OK, I don't know where the week went, but jeepers it was a fast one. The base of the card is made with Papertrey Ink's Ocean Tides cut as an A2. The tree is cut with scraps, mostly Club Scrap. I intended to use "I be-leaf in you" as the sentiment, but I wasn't sure when it came time, so I left it blank for now. I can always add it later, but it's a bear to change once it's on :D.

Playing with Serenade with Flowerdisco and Friends - Week 4

It's week 4 already! The lost camera has been found  and recharged (yay).  This week I turned one set of Cricut cuts into two cards by layering the positive and the negatives.  I used the new Papertrey Ink Linen cardstock as the base of both cards, cutting one 8.5 x 11" sheet in two. All the cuts are made from Club Scrap paper from some Pounds of Paper I bought on sale awhile ago. And there is a lot of dimension to both cards with either glue dots or foam tape being used almost everywhere. The sentiment is made with Papertrey Ink's Simple Alphabet stamp set.

The first card is made with positive shapes. The tree branch is stamped with Papertrey Ink's Beyond Basics: Woodgrain stamp set. The sentiment is stamped on a tag tied to the branch. The embellishments are made with Dimensional Pearls.

The second card is made with the negative shapes of the shadow and base stacked over a green base. The edges were inked with Papertrey Ink Chamomile and Chai.

Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends - Week 3

Hello everyone! It's week 3 of Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends.

This week I did a simple card with image no. 21. I got to use more scraps for the image (mostly K&Co.), and used all 4 layers. The card is an A2 made from Papertrey Ink's Spring Moss cardstock which I had stamped with a stamp from the Four of a Kind stamp set (it really is a favorite) using Versamark.

Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends - Week 2

Hello Everyone! It's week two of Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends.  If you are looking for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, please scroll to the previous post :D.

This week I used image number 14, and I went large with a 5 x 7 inch card. The vase image doesn't come with flowers so I added a flower image from Accent Essentials. The card is from an SEI pad, everything else is from my scrapbook, but is mostly various K&Co. papers. I used some gold acrylic metallic paint to make the flower centers. I dipped the end of the paintbrush in the paint to make the center of the smaller flower as I learned on the Aleene's craft show soooo long ago lol. The small blue dots are actually glittered (by the manufacturer).

Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends - Week 1

Hello everyone! I'm one of Flowerdisco's Friends exploring the long-pined for (in my case at least) Serenade cartridge. The image I worked with this week is #7 (1st row, 7th along), which tickled me to bits because this image is one of the reasons I really craved this cartridge.

I used DCWV cardstock for the base and Stamper's Select White Papertrey Ink cardstock for the Clouds and Raindrops. The bottom layer of the cloud was stamped with Niagara Mist Versamagic Chalk Ink, the middle layer was left white but mostly covered with Diamond Stickles (ooooohhh the sparkle), the top layer is lightly inked with BazzInk Splash.  I surrounded each rain drop (and covered them too) with more Diamonds Stickles. The sentiment comes from Papertrey Ink's Scattered Showers stamp set.

Be sure to check out everyone's projects.

A Card for Fall and a Thank You card

I made this card for a contest, which was timely as I had been wanting to try this all summer lol.  The treetop is made from a fancy cut on Straight from the Nest and it's shadow. The paper is Creative Memories, but I don't remember which set.  The card base is made with Core'dinations cut 5.5" x 8.5"  and folded in half. The tree trunk is from Serenade. and it is sandwiched between the fancy cut and it's shadow.  Please note rhinestones do not expire. I bought these from a now defunct store called Franks back in 1989. I filled all the cuts that have rhinestones in them with glossy accents. I also filled in some of the cuts without rhinestones.

Then I put the finishing touches on a Thank You card I've been working on all week. One of those get an element think about it, let it lie on the card for a while, move it lol.

It started with the flower embellishment which I cut almost 2 years ago when I was just starting out with the  Cricut. I have NO idea which cart it came from or anything.  Then I went to my scrap box and pulled out a thin strip of shiny K&Co paper and my favorite pink, preglittered paper, and a piece of cardstock from Club Scrap's Framed  kit (this is the plain side).  I cut the shiny paper strip in two and used both sides, and strung it through the flower.

The flower looked too plain, so I stamped it with a Papertrey Ink stamp from the Embellishments stamp set, and then covered the ink using a clear glittered copic marker (also purchased from Papertrey Ink). I used my Splash BazzInk cube to tie elements together by inking the edges of the grey mat and to stamp flourishes on the card base.

You can just see the background stamping there. Then I made liberal use of my Antique Linen Distress Stickles and a sentiment made from the Paper Tray Ink stamp set from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks for looking :D

Added: The flower is from George and Basic Shapes, in the slotted feature :D
