WOYWW 429 (for realsies)

The aftermath of a birthday card I made yesterday. Using Papertrey Ink vellum as the base because it is so deliciously sturdy and still translucent : D. I also used my new Painted Jellyfish stamps from Altenew. Squirrels took up residence in the crawl space over my craftroom back in February due to a gap made by a windstorm. And though they were evicted by the heat in July and the gap finally fixed, it's taken me a while to stop listening for those rascals. It's lovely to be able to enjoy my crafty space again.

Especially because I bought a Tim Holtz Stamping Platform. One perk that was not in any of the demos I've seen, is that when my crafting surface shrinks (is surrounded by crafty things), the top pulls off for easy inking while lying flat. And is easy peasy to put back on again.

I was certain someone asked me a question about using unmounted rubber stamps with the platform, but I can't find it now. The answer is yes, but if you've been a bit uneven with the glue as I am sometimes, it can be a little uneven. There are two fixes for that. If you are using the clear stamp side, the easiest fix is to re-stamp as needed . The second is to use the mounted rubber side with a piece of fun foam on the base (which is how I stamp unmounted stamps with an acrylic block).

For more crafty peeks, head over to Julia's Stamping Ground.

Nice clear desk. Glad you sorted your squirrel problem ... we have two that eat the bird food from our garden, but they don't come in our house. Have a lovely week, Heather #6

I think it was me who asked about the stamps. As I am unmounting them all, I am removing any foam backing and putty tacky glue on the back. I'm supposing it would be kind of equal to the clear unmounted stamps, except in rubber. But from what you are saying, I shouldn't have any problems! I lived with squirrels overhead for a year so I know the feeling - you get used to them! One died mid-year and I was practically in tears listening to the other one crying for 2 days. All is quiet now, we finally fixed the hole. Thanks for sharing, Lindart #33
