WOYWW 379

There's a lot going on here. I was waiting for the Stickles to dry on the shaker card and I did more sampling for a set of 12 cards (also finished today lol).

the front of the shaker card (featuring Lawn Fawn's Loads of Fun stamp set).
the inside is stamped and stickled and the laundry basket turned into a cupcake with candles from Papertrey Ink's Wishes Come True stamp set.

The set of 12 cards with the background stenciled with one of Papertrey Ink's Woodblock Prints stencils.

Loads of Fun Birthday Card

Loving the Loads of Fun set from Lawn Fawn. The image is stamped with one of the Alcohol Ink techniques from Creative Chemistry 103. I used a 1 3/4 inch circle die to make the washer window. The cardstock is Papertrey Ink's Tropical Teal.

On the inside I used the die cut circle to stamp a laundry basket "cupcake". I used an exacto knife to make layers in the laundry, and then put in candles from Papertrey Ink's Wishes Come True set (they are longer than the basket, but easy peasy to cut to size). Colored with Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint Distress Markers. The bubble highlights are made with a Picket Fence Distress Marker and at first they are totally invisible, but after a few seconds the color really pops.

Red Stickles accent the candle flames, and Diamond Stickles highlight spaces between bubbles.

I only stamped the bubbles where they were likely to be seen. On the left is the back of the card front. I used a scrap piece of watercolor paper (painted a light blue) as the back of the shaker.

Adventure Kaleidoscope

I think the Kaleidoscope is finally finished... but I thought that a while ago too lol. I added some rubber stamping from Papertrey Ink's Road Trip and Technique Tuesday's Going Places set. The stamping is done by inking up the stamps without a block (Coffee Archival Ink). Hold the center of the stamp in place and then roll the sides with your fingers so they contact the surface. This did not make a perfect impression of the stamp (the texture and slick surface see to that), but I love the effect. What doesn't show up in the photograph is a smattering of dots made with Diamond Stickles.

I covered the striped paper from the kit with tissue paper inked with a little Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. The first few layers I used Ranger's Glue N Seal. The last is Ranger Matte Collage Medium. The Crazing Medium and the Vintage Medium would have been splendid also.

I also used Glue n' Seal on the eye piece to make it a little more durable.

The ribbons are all altered seam binding colored with leftover inks. The narrow ribbon is gathered with a long blanket stitch (with 2-ply handspun silk embroidery thread). Beads are strung on some of the ribbons too. And a charm from Club Scrap's Cyprus kit.

Stickles covers some rough edges.

And this is the view : D.

By the way, 2016 marks the 200th anniversary of the kaleidoscope. It's not too late to join the celebration.

WOYWW 377

The aftermath of a last-minute birthday shaker card using Lawn Fawn's Loads of Fun. It turned out nicely, and I'll probably be making it again soon (since I have the materials out). I opted out of the embellishment cups that fit into a 1.75" circle cut. The peacock feathers were going to be used in my stationery set, but I think I'm going with a navy instead ... maybe a combination. So many inks lol. The trouble with making a gift is that there are sooooo many options.

WOYWW 375

It's been busy 'round here. I'm frantically trying to try all the techniques in Creative Chemistry 103 before the "Ask Tim Questions" forum closes, in case I have any questions. Only I keep getting distracted by all the possibilities. I'm going to need a LOT more Distress Crayons. In the back left is a stencil I cut with some thinlets out of packaging cardboard in case I just can't wash a stencil lol.

I am starting to get the hang of Distress Micro Glaze (the image is a composite stamping from Wendy Vecchi's Steam Punk art and Tim Holtz' Crazy Things).
